Learn the Piano Level 1

Objective: Establish healthy, ergonomic playing position to prevent tension, promote control, and build the foundation for all future piano technique.

Objective: Develop internal rhythm and understand how note values control the duration of sounds in music
Prerequisites: Foundation lesson on posture and positioning

Objective: Navigate the keyboard to find and play your first three notes (C, D, E) with proper fingering, and learn to use fermata for musical expression
Prerequisites: Lesson 1 (Rhythm and Note Values), Foundation (Posture)

Objective: Complete the white key alphabet (C-B), understand black key function as sharps and flats, and play patterns using the complete keyboard
Prerequisites: Lessons 1-2 (Rhythm, C-D-E, Fermata)

Objective: Understand the treble clef staff as a musical map, learn to read Middle C and D in treble clef, and connect written notation to keyboard knowledge
Prerequisites: Lessons 1-3 (Rhythm, C-D-E notes, Complete keyboard)

Objective: Read Middle C in both treble and bass clef, deepen understanding of fermata for musical expression, and introduce the sustain pedal with proper technique
Prerequisites: Lesson 4 (Treble clef, Middle C and D reading)
